The story
Based on my strong intrest in people, service, tourism and travel I chose to study tourism and hospitality on a academic level at Karlstad University (Sweden). I fininshed my studies with a year in Australia studing marketing and tourism management.
Thanks to my academic studies I´m very administrative, thorough and apply an analytic way of thinking which is very helpful in problem solving.
Increased revenue of 60%
After my academic studies, I began my career in the hospitality business at a small but centrally located family owned hotel in Stockholm. I chose to work at a small hotel in oder to quickly become a part of the success and learn how a hotel is managed. Within weeks I had the role as Front Desk Office Shift Leader, within 14 months I landed the role as Acting Deputy Hotel Manager.
During the time I worked at Gustav Vasa Hotel, the hotels revenue increased with an astonishing 60% in only two years. All thanks to the implementation more effective marketing and booking procedures, focus on sales and new overall routines and staff education.
This experience have given me a a greater understanding for how much every part and detail of the hotel effects the guest experience.
Experience from a large Conference Center
After a reasearch trip to the Carribean I started in february 2006 as Front Desk Manager at Hässelby Slott (operated by Fazer Amica AB). During my three year I managed a team of 8 people through one of the most hectic periods in their history.
In februari 2009 I was offered to step up and take the potision as deputy hotel manager at Tammsvik konferens och herrgård. One of the most respected conference centers in Sweden (and part of C/O Hotels). An offer too good to turn down (even if it was just for one year when the manager was on her materinal leave).
New industry; same skills
In 2015 I became interested in switching industry and started looking for a position within the field of 'office management'. Was quickly offered a position at Brummer & Partners. In 2017 I moved on to the same position at the IT firm Vizrt.
